Since 2017, the ‘Belgian Fashion Awards’ are organised every year by Flanders District of Creativity, MAD Brussels, Wallonie-Bruxelles Design Mode, Knack Weekend and Le Vif Weekend. These awards were established in order to turn the spotlight on the reputation, creativity and diversity of Belgian fashion, both on a national and international level. Our aim is to also showcase less well-known names and the talent behind the scenes.

Every year, the awards are an occasion to celebrate Belgian fashion, meet people and strengthen bonds within the creative sector. We show the world that Belgian fashion stands for independence, personality and sustainability. In the world of fashion, we are known to be surrealist, modest, hardworking, avant-garde and no-nonsense. Belgian fashion lets the work speak for itself. During the awards, we set our modesty aside and promote Belgian fashion.

25% of all ticket sales will directly contribute to the cash prize for the winner of the Emerging Talent of the Year Award. This means that every guest will actively support and empower the next generation of Belgian designers.

AWARD CATEGORIES

An international jury, including Karen Binns (President) Kiyo Ishizuka, Saar Debrouwere, Bianca Luzi, Philippe Pourhashemi, Stephanie D'heygere, Serge Carreira, Elisa Dewyngaert, Eve Demoen, and Nicolas Lor, will select the winners in the following nine categories:

• Designer of the Year – honouring a designer who left a strong mark this year
• Accessory Designer of the Year – excellence in accessory design
• Creative Professional of the Year – spotlighting stylists, photographers, or behind-the-scenes talent
• Changemaker of the Year – rewarding those pushing for inclusivity or sustainability
• Company of the Year – recognising outstanding business
• Emerging Talent of the Year – a visionary young designer on the rise
• Most Promising Graduate of the Year – a standout from Belgium’s fashion schools
• Model of the Year – celebrating a Belgian model with global presence
• Outstanding Achievement Award – celebrating an exceptional career.

The winner of the tenth award, Love Brand of the Year, is decided by the public. Voting opens in October via belgianfashionawards.be, giving fans and fashion lovers the chance to reward their favourite brand.
