ABOUT NANOOK

NANOOK is a young Belgian label that blends illustration and fashion.
We create wearable narratives: pieces rooted in story, humour with a message and a bold graphic language.
Prints are central to the brand and are often built around a recurring cartoon character that acts as both a visual signature and a narrative anchor.

THE INTERNSHIP

We are looking for a hands-on Design Studio Intern to support the development of our upcoming collections and the daily work within the NANOOK studio.

You will work closely with the founder and be involved in different stages of the creative and production process, from initial research and design development to prototypes, fittings and production follow-up.

The internship combines creative thinking with practical studio work and offers an inside look at the development of an independent fashion label.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Assist with research and the development of ideas for upcoming collections.Create and organise moodboards, visual references, fabric files and material research.Support the design development of garments, prints and textiles.Assist with print development, from initial concepts and illustrations to repeat patterns, colourways and production-ready files.Help develop, construct and adjust prototypes and samples.Prepare and update technical drawings, working files and collection documents.Assist with pattern development, sewing and garment adjustments, depending on your experience.Attend fittings, document feedback and support the follow-up of samples.Help source fabrics and trims and assist with supplier and production follow-up.Prepare garments and accessories for photoshoots, presentations, launches and events.Provide all-round support and help keep the studio, materials and collection pieces organised.

WHO YOU ARE

• You are studying fashion design, fashion technology, pattern making, textile design or a related course.
• You have a strong interest in fashion, illustration, print, textiles and garment construction.
• You enjoy both conceptual development and practical, hands-on work.
• You have basic sewing and garment-construction skills.
• Knowledge of pattern making and technical garment development is a plus.
• You have experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• You are precise, organised and attentive to detail.
• You are proactive, curious and willing to take initiative.
• You can work independently while communicating clearly within a small team.
• You are reliable and take responsibility for your tasks and deadlines.
• You have a good command of English. 
• You are available for a minimum of 3 days a week, preferably 4.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The internship takes place in our studio in Ghent.

You are available for a minimum of 3 days a week, preferably 4. 

The starting date and duration of the internship can be discussed together.
